The Superman Orchestra TOMORROW, November 14, at 7:30 PM in the Academy of Music, Northampton, MA. Six of the classic Max Fleischer Superman cartoons from the 1940s will be shown along with original musical scores composed especially for this event and performed by a live orchestra, with live performers speaking the roles of the characters. The show starts with a live reading of the very first Superman radio script, "The Baby From Krypton". Produced by the Project Arts Collective. Tickets are $15.00 or $10.00 for students and seniors.

Modern Myths Book Club: On the last Thursday of every month at 7:00 PM, we host a comics discussion group. This month, we'll be reading Finder: Sin Eater by Carla Speed McNeil. This series might be described as an SF/True Crime series. The main character, Jaeger, is an aboriginal detective, with no place in the domed cities and other settled areas of his world, and no recourse to the cops if he uncovers something that needs fixing. This first story, Sin-Eater puts Jaeger back into the domed city Anvard, torn between love and loyalty to both the woman he loves, and the old friend who isn't as dead and gone as he'd thought . Refreshments will be served. Next Meeting will be on November 20, 2008.
Board Game Night every Saturday: Join us for a wide range of European-style board and card strategy games. Newcomers welcome! We'll provide the games and teach the rules, but you can also bring your favorites. This and every Saturday from 7:00 - 11:00 PM.
We try to set up in the dealer's room of to at least one new convention every year, and this fall we're testing the waters at New England Fan Experience on November 21 to 23, at the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge, MA.
