For six weeks, we will have thousands of bargain comics on sale for only $1.00 each, or a dozen for only $10.00. As we did last winter, we will rotate the boxes around every two weeks, ensuring three entirely new arrays of comics during the sale.
Miniatures Painting Workshop: On the second Saturday of each month from 3:00-5:00 PM, staff member Pete S. leads a free workshop for folks who want to paint Warhammer, 40K, and other Games Workshop miniatures. No experience necessary. Feel free to bring your own figure--from any game--or we can provide you with a sample mini, paints and brushes. Next Meeting: Saturday July 11.
Living Forgotten Realms: On the first Thursday and third Sunday of every month, we are running D&D games here in the store, using Living Forgotten Realms adventures. LFR is the official campaign setting of the RPGA (the long-standing official D&D fan club), and is set in the latest version of the Realms, using the current, Fourth Edition rules. LFR games are open to any RPGA member with a legal character. If you aren’t a member, joining takes two minutes and is free, and if you don’t have a character, we can make one up for you on the spot using Character Builder. Manager Jim C and staffer Michael D will alternate as Dungeon Masters, running different adventures, so even if you come to both games every month, you’ll still have something new to play. (You can also play the same character each time or alternate characters if you want.) These events will be free, and open to anyone who wishes to play. Space will be limited, so sign up today! Our next sessions will be on Sunday, July 19, starting at 4:30 PM and then on Thursday, August 6, starting at 6:30 PM.

Meetings are the first Tuesday night of every month; next meeting will be on Tuesday, August 4th, 7:00 PM.

Featured REVIEW: Buffy The Vampire Slayer Season Eight (ongoing series, 4 graphic novel collections so far) -Creator Joss Whedon is continuing the popular TV series in comics format, with stories written by himself and other popular creators such as Jane Espenson and Brian K. Vaughn. This series truly is Season 8, jumping right in when the show ended. Buffy is now the leader of an army of slayers, but she faces a new threat (and honest to god masked super villain called Twilight), who may just have figured out how to destroy her… and make it stick. I did not watch the series, and have seen perhaps half a dozen episodes over the years. Despite this handicap, the characters and their struggles still capture my interest. A must read for fans of the series, and worth a look from everyone else, particularly stand alone story “The Chain” in volume one. --MSD
